Trip Highlights

  • You will lose at least 5-10 lbs
  • Trekkers with limited time frame choose this trek.
  • More than 100,000 trekkers pave the way to ABC in a year.
  • The ABC trek is best for those who want to lose him/her in nature from the busy and hectic office schedule.
  • On the way to the Camp the trekkers pass through series of waterfalls, beautiful villages of its own type, terraced farmlands, rhododendron forests, and amazing panoramic views of mountains which gives you the feeling of refresh forever.
  • A single trip that gives you the view of popular three peaks of the world namely, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchre (Fishtail).
  • Observe massive Annapurna Conservation Area.
  • If you are a researcher or the student of sociology then it is more fruitful as you will get chance to encounter Sherpa people and their culture.
  • Last but not the least, the view of sunrise and sunset from ABC makes every trekker speechless. The golden color reflected from the peak mesmerizes everyone leaving impression of eternal silence forever.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek - ABC involves both drive and trek i.e. the drive is done up to Tikedhunga from Kathmandu stopping for a night in Pokhara, and after that, the real adventure begins. Further, we stop at many places like Ghorepani poon hill- sunrise view, Tadapani, Deurali, our destination Annapurna base camp, Jhinu Dada and more. All those places provide a spectacular view of the Himalayas and other natural beauties in the surrounding. The mostly found people in this region are Mongolian mostly including Gurung and Magar with their own different but attractive cultures, traditions, and languages. This trek also offers the close view of the Himalayas like Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7041m), Fishtail (6998m), Mt. Annapurna I, II, III and IV, Mt. Himchuli, Lamjung Himal, Tukuche peak (6920m) and many more.

Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is the second home for trekkers, after Everest Region who enjoys the adventure and thrill, no matter they are insiders or outsiders. Annapurna is the tenth highest mountain in the world towering at the height of 8,091 meters; because of which also the trek in this region has become more popular and demanding. It is bordered by Marshyangdi River on the north and east, Kali Gandaki Gorge on the west and Pokhara Valley on the south. The trek to the camp begins from Pokhara and passes through various hills and dense forests giving the beautiful scenic view of the rhododendron, pine, oak and bamboo trees, rivers (like Chomrong River and Modi River), cattle, waterfalls and many more. Journey/route to this place is more beautiful than the destination which provides a spectacular sunrise view from Ghorepani Poon Hill.

The Annapurna Conservation Area prospered within 7,629 square kilometers surrounds Annapurna Base Camp in the northern part of the country. The best time to go for this trek is in autumn, summer and spring season. In this time, cold doesn’t give much trouble and the view from the area giving consciousness to the scenery and people will also be splendid. The skies will also be clear and perfect views will be got with extraordinary photography frame. The two main festivals, Christmas and New Year can also be celebrated with friendly and helpful locals. The permits for trekking in Annapurna Base Camp region should be taken from Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu and  Pokhara ACAP chapter Ghauri Ghat near lakeside.

White mountains on the way to Pokhara will capture your heart and mind. By noon we will reach Pokhara where you will rest for some time. We will enjoy Davis Fall, and Phewa Lake there. Overnight in Pokhara.
  • Day 02:Drive to Nayapul/Trek to Tikedhunga From Pokhara we drive to Nayapul from where our trekking will begin. A 15 minute walk along the bank of the Modi Khola River brings us to Birethanti (1,065m), a large village with many shops & teahouses. From there, the trail continues through the village, and follows the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola. From there the trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille at 1,495m, and further short climb to Tikedhunga at 1,525m. This is a short and relatively easy day, allowing us to become used to the experience of trekking in Nepal. We will spend night in Tikhedhunga.
  • Day 03:Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani After a hearty breakfast we leave Tikedunga, we begin with steep climb to Ulleri. Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2,070m. Then the trail continues to climb more gently through fine forests of oak & rhododendron towards Banthanti at 2,250m. From there we trek towards Nangethanti at 2,460m. An hour further walk brings us to Ghorepani at 2,775m.
  • Day 04:Ghorepani - Poon Hill - Tadapani Today, very early in the morning, we rise to hike the 1 hour climb to Poon Hill (3,195m). A brilliant spectacle, this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas. We spend around 40 minutes taking in the wonderful spectacle, before returning to Ghorepani for a well deserved breakfast. This is famous as "Ghorepani Poonhill Trek in Nepal". This place is the most popular for doing Annapurna Trekking in Nepal. From Ghorepani, we ascend along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali (2,960m), before descending to Banthanti. From here we take the turn off to Tadapani (2,540m).
  • Day 05:Tadapani to Chomorung/Sinuwa The day starts with steep downhill. Leaving Tadapani, we descend steeply through forests and then the trail eases as we reach village of Gurjung -home to the Gurung people. From here it is a relatively easy walk to Chomorung (2,020m), and the start of the Sanctuary valley. A bit further is Sinuwa where we will halt for night.
  • Day 06:Sinuwa to Himalaya or Deurali From Sinuw we follow relatively easy path through bamboo forest to reach a place called Bamboo. Next, trail leads ascending through the deep bamboo forest and after crossing Doban we reach Himalaya Hotel. A gentle further walk will take us to Deurali where we will stay for a night.
  • Day 07:Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp Today the trail climbs through the beautiful "hidden valley", and on past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted). From here we rest before making the 2 hour trek to the Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130m. This is the Annapurna Sanctuary - so called because it is totally surrounded by mountains from all sides.
  • Day 08:Explore Hidden Valley and back to Bamboo We spend some time exploring Hidden Valley and the glaciers above the base camp. Snowcapped peaks, cool breeze and beautiful sky, it is such a wonderful feeling that will last lifelong. Truly, you feel so blessed for being here. After some time we will continue our walk and reach Bamboo.

We keep on travelling by the banks of Modi River and some time above it. After some time we arrive at New Bridge where we have some snacks. From here the route splits into two one goes towards Landruk and the other leads to Birethanti which we follow. We reach at Birethanti and from there we catch a vehicle to Pokhara where we will enjoy some time in lakeside and spend a night.

I was just thinking to make my plan for my vacation and I thought for trekking. I was totally unknown about trek. while I was spending time in Internet, I found Nepal trek adventure. I sent an enquiry and I was replied by their team. I had many more question so I started to ask my questions to them, they replied all my questions without being irritated. I booked a trek to Annapurna Base Camp with them. Binod (The managing director) and Shiva (guide) had come to airport to receive me and they dropped me to the respective Hotel. we made discussion about the day after trek and we started our trek in next morning. I was fully satisfied with my decision of choosing this agency. Thankyou Nepal Trek Adventures’ team for this wonderful trek. Highly recommended.

When the students of our college thought about trek I couldn't decide the agency for trekking which would be fun as well as affordable. Some other agency were too unsatisfactory and some were with unaffordable price rate. Then we found Nepal trek adventure. The price was so affordable and the trek members(guides) were so comfortable and so helpful that I'm glad that I chose this agency for my trek to Annapurna Base Camp. They satisfied our budget friendly trek with their friendly supportive team. Thankyou Binod, the managing director and the team of NTA for making our trek memorable.

It was difficult to choose between all the many agencies that are offering treks to Nepal. I decided to trust a young and dynamic company runned by Binod! Everyhing was perfect, it was the best experience of my life. Thank you again for organizing what will remind an unforgettable memory!

Trekking to Annapurna Base Camp was one of the most incredible things we have ever done, and we couldn't have asked for a better guide than Dhana. We wanted to go with a company, rather than just hiring a guide, to have additional security in case anything happened or went wrong. Binod went out of his way to make sure we had a fantastic experience and was in contact (via mobile) throughout the 9 days of trekking to ensure that everything was running smoothly. Dhana, our guide, was awesome in every possible way (spoke perfect English, very organised and attentive, fantastic guide, and great at card games!) and we will definitely be back to trek everest base camp with him! We highly recommend this company if you want to do a trek in Nepal.

My gf and i completed the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Nepal Trek Expedition in late 2013 and it was one of the best decisions we've made. It's a small family-run government registered company which I think definitely works in their favour - it made for a much more relaxed and personal experience. We visited several other companies in Thamel looking for the right tour operator (there is literally hundreds!) but the clincher was the helpful and genuine attitude of manager Binod in the office, who provided excellent service and a competitive price. On the trek we had a fantastic guide Dilli (the initial founder of the company) who's years of experience was clear throughout the trek, and porter Raj. Both were always happy and full of energy and made the trip certainly a highlight and unforgettable experience in Asia. They also provided a great deal of information during in the trekking on the history and culture of Nepal. I would highly recommend this company and while we started as clients it felt like we left as friends. Cheers NTA! Melbourne, Australia

I submitted this review whilst travelling but for some reason Nepal Trek adventures disappeared off TripAdvisor completely? It is so sad that this has happened so I'm re-posting. We chose Nepal Trek Adventures and Expeditions after three days in Kathmandu researching for a tour to Annapurna base camp. We stumbled upon Binod's office and decided to go with our gut instinct. Binod didn't pressure us, he was very charismatic and had a very competitive price.  For 12 days you couldn't ask for more. These people are the happiest, funniest, most genuine hard working people we have come across. Our guide Dilly and our porter Raj were amazing. We felt so lucky to have them as a lot of other guides were always seeking them for their knowledge and experience. Even other Trekkers we met along the way from other groups sought them for any questions and they were always the life of the party. Dilli assessed our fitness levels and knew when we could push on further or need to rest, and all the tricks for remedies and where to get the best deals. He was informative and gave us a great insight into local culture and history along the way.  When we decided to stay another night in Pokhara he gave us a great recommendation (sacred valley inn) and when we returned to KTM they organized a lift to the airport and gave us Tibetan good luck scarfs for safe traveling. <!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]--> <!--[endif]-->

My friend and I rocked up in Kathmandu with a plan of doing a budget-friendly trek to the Annapurna Base Camp. We originally wanted to do the 9-day ABC trek on our own, without the help of any agency because we thought it might be too expensive. Being women backpackers, we wanted to get a cheap and adventure-filled trekking package, but wanted ease of travel and didn't want to sacrifice our safety.  We were glad we came across Nepal Trek Adventure & Expedition while shopping around the Thamel area. Binod was very professional and helpful in getting permits and a porter-cum-guide. We were able to plan for the trek within the time period that we wanted, despite the fact that we arranged it a day before our planned departure. Our bus tickets, trekking passes and accommodations were all arranged by Binod without any hassle. Our sherpa guide was brilliant too and we were quite thankful that we got one! My friend had an accident on our 2nd to the last day of the trek back, where she sprained her ankle. But thanks to our porter-guide, Norbu, she made it! He assisted in getting accommodations for us during the very busy season when people flocked to teahouses to do the trek.  Of course the ABC Trek is picturesque and quite an experience itself---it is one of the best travel adventures I've done. But I'm quite glad Nepal Trek Adventure & Expedition was there to make everything happen for us for a budget-friendly price. As Binod said, "women need an intelligent man that can make things happen!" I would recommend Binod and his team to others. In fact, I'm already planning for our Everest Base Camp trek next year!
