Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01:Arrival to Paro/Drive to Thimpu Get in Paro by Druk Air. The view of Himalaya while onboard is mesmerizing for any Bhutan travelers. Our representative in Bhutan will receive you in the airport and drives you to Thimpu, capital city of Bhutan. On the way to Thimpu we visit Tamchhog Lhakhang (temple). It is located on the opposite of the river. The temple was built by Thang Thong Gyalpo of Tibet. He had built numerous iron bridges in Bhutan. We will also visit Kuenselcholing view point. It is a place from where you get beautiful view of Thimpu valley. Here we will pay visit to Buddha. It is largest statue of Lord Buddha. We will stroll around the streets of Thimpu and enjoy the scenic beauty and architecture of Bhutan. We will rest in a hotel in Thimpu.
  • Day 02:Thimpu Sightseeing Early in the morning we hike to Cheri Monastery. An hour walk will take us to Cheri Gomba. It was built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1620. Dodina and Jigme Dorji Wild Life Sactuary is our next site of visit. Here we will see birds like Mrs Gould's Sunbird, Yellow-browed Tit, Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, Long-billed Thrush and Ultramarine Flycatcher among others. Paper Factory: Handmade paper is a long tradition of Bhutan. It started from eight century. It is regarded as national heritage of Bhutanese culture. We will pave the way to weekend market, if it is Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Bhutan craft bazaar is a place where one can find quality products of bags, wooden and clay molded utensils and many other things. We will spend night at a hotel in Thimpu.
  • Day 03:Thimpu to Gangtey While on the way to Gangtey we get through Dochula. It is a view point. The view from here is outstanding. On the clear day we get the view of few peaks such as Masagang (7,158m), Tsendagang (6,960m), Terigang (7,060m ), Jejegangphugang (7,158 m ), Kangphugang (7,170 m ), Zongphugang (7, 060 m ), a table mountain that dominates the isolated region of Lunana - finally Gangkar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan at 7,497m.The chorten, maiwalls, prayer flags and praying wheels here drives you spiritual. Druk Wangyal Chortens, 108 stupas, is another attraction of this place. It was built by queen Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck. The Monastery of Gangtey is located in the slope of Phobjikha Valley. The valley is located in the east of Wangdue Phodrang. The Gangtey Monastery was built in 17th century. We will spend night in Gangtey.
  • Day 04:Gangtey to Punakaha Our day begins by visiting Gangtey Gomba. The Monastery of Gangtey is located in the slope of Phobjikha Valley. The valley is located in the east of Wangdue Phodrang. The Gangtey Monastery was built in 17th century. We will spend night in Gangtey. The Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility) is our next destination. It was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley (divine madman) in 1499. We will hike for few hours to arrive at Punakha where we will stay for the night.
  • Day 05:Punakha to Wangdue to Paro Early in the morning we visit Punakha Dzong. It was built by Zhabdrung in 1637. It is located in between two rivers, Mo (Female) and Pho (Male). It used to be seat for the king. We drive to Paro and visit Rimpu Dzong here. It served as administrative building of Bhutan for some long time. We will spend nightin Paro.
  • Day 06:Explore Paro Paro is a tourist capital of the country. We visit Taktsang Monastery which in English means Tiger’s Nest. It is built around a cave where Guru Rimpoche (Padmasambhava) meditated. He is a same person who visited Muktinath in Nepal and meditated here for long time. The Monastery was built in eighth century. The Monastery is a perch on a rock. It is a pilgrimage site for Bhutanese people and at the same time, it is a beautiful view point for tourists. Legends say that Guru Rimpoche flew here from Tibet on Tigeress back and meditated for three months.
    We visit Kinchu temple. It is one of the 108 temples built by Tibetan King Shrongchong Gampo in seventh century. It is said that a demon obstructed the course of spreading Buddhism in this part of Himalayas and the King decided to build 108 temples on all of the 108 points of her body. The National Museum is another site of our visit. We will roam around the street of Paro in the evening. We will spend night in a hotel.
  • Day 07:Back to your country Here ends our Bhutan Tour today. Our Bhutanese representative will drop you at Paro Airport.

You will be staying at a luxury hotel of your choice in Butan. Here you will be staying two nights. Twin sharing basis is the criteria for accommodation. For single accommodation you need to pay additional charge.

Breakfasts will be served by the hotel. Lunch, dinner and snacks is your expense.

Getting Visa for Bhutan
