Everest Base Camp Trek in Nepal 2018

We found Nepal Trek Adventures online, we particularly wanted to book our trip with a local trekking company. After a couple of email chats with Binod (the owner), we decided to put our trust in them and were not disappointed. This was our first visit to Nepal and our first big trek, so we were very excited but a little nervous about what to expect. However, we were more than impressed with how Binod and Kreexna (our guide) looked after us and organized everything to perfection. We would like to thank Binod for his hospitality in Kathmandu which was much more than we expected. A big thanks to our fantastic guide Kreexna who was a great companion on our trip and looked after us perfectly, making sure we stayed safe, healthy and well fed! Other thanks to our porter Galychen who effortlessly carried our heavy gear through the mountains. Trekking through one of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth was an amazing and memorable experience as was meeting some lovely people and getting an insight into Sherpa culture. We are very happy that we chose this company to help us on our journey. We would definitely use Nepal Trek Adventures again for our next visit to Nepal and would highly recommend them. You couldn’t meet a nicer team, who are very professional and take great pride in looking after their guests. Go for it Everest Base Camp Trek 2018 in Nepal.

  • A Wonderful Team and Experience Guide For Everest Base Camp

A Wonderful Team and Experience Guide For Everest Base Camp

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. Likewise, I already had visited and explored Annapurna Base Camp with another trekking company but this time I chose Nepal Trek Adventure and Expedition (NTA) with new sight towards the world for exploring Everest Base Camp. Choosing this agency for this trek is one of the best decisions that I had taken in my entire life. At the end of the trek the only word that came in my mouth was ‘awesome’. Really, you guys were awesome. My trekking experience became more beautiful with you guys. Mr. Binod, I will never forget you in my entire life. You just made my trekking experience more pleasing and shrine. Although I had visited to the another Base Camp earlier, this was the best and unforgettable one. God bless you all.

  • 14 Days Everest Base Camp Trek an Amazing Experience

14 Days Everest Base Camp Trek an Amazing Experience

From start to finish we were looking after amazingly by the managing director of Nepal Trek Adventure & Expedition Mr. Binod Sapkota and our guide 'King Krishna' - from picking us up from the airport, showing us around to the trekking itself. Thank you, Binod for proving us the best trekking itinerary of 14 Days Everest Base Camp Trek including Kathmandu valley sightseeing tours. Our guide Krishna was knowledgeable, fun and easy to talk to as he led us through the Himalayas to base camp. He did everything by the book and made sure we were as safe as we could be as we were trekking. From small groups to large groups, If I were to come back to Nepal for another trek there will be no other company I will use other than this one. And keep it up your best job and we will recommend you more our friends and families.

  • Well organized trek to Everest Base Camp

Well organized trek to Everest Base Camp

Travelling to the country like Nepal seeing its beauty in the internet was a dream and finally it came true with Nepal Trek Adventure (NTA). The most important and attractive jewel of the country is Mount Everest and one of the most influential trek toward the region is Everest Base Camp Trek, which was completed by me with NTA. All the places that you showed during the time of trek were totally awesome. The beauty of Nepal fully blew my mind. Really guys, along with the natural beauty, the services and facilities provided by you and by all the places where we stayed with team were so good. It was my lifetime opportunity and you made it more beautiful with all your efforts and elevating attempts. Thank you all. See you soon!!

  • Everest Base Camp Trek Rewati
    Hong Kong

    Everest Base Camp Trek Rewati

I booked to go on a trek to EBC at the very last minute with Nepal Trek Adventures - luckily it was the off season and Rewati was available to guide me through this journey. I was a bit concerned at first as this was my first ever trek, but Rewati's experience, level headed way of expressing things, his genuine care and vast experience of the trek really allayed these fears. Luckily for us, Rewati also knew another group who was doing a similar itinerary as us, so we managed to join as a group of 3 trekkers, which really made the trip extra special. For me, this trek was the hardest thing I have ever done. It was a hard slog up the mountain, and the altitude sickness was crippling (but manageable). The accommodation is relatively basic, and there will be days where you go without a shower - but is it all worth it in the end? Yes. Without a doubt! Also, simply put, without Rewati, I would not have made Base Camp.I got bad altitude sickness at Gorak Shep (struggled on the way up already to be honest) - but for Rewati's quick thinking in (force) feeding me a garlic soup + snickers, I would probably not have been able to meet up with the rest of group at Base Camp. Full props to Rewati, he is amazing. Book him by name if you decide to go.I had no experience in trekking, I was under-prepared (did not have a fresh water solution) etc - but Rewati made it work with minimal fuss.

  • Everest Base Camp Trek

    Everest Base Camp Trek

More than a year back, I was reading an article about Mt. Everest and got to know about Everest Base Camp and how tough and intense it was to reach there. Though I consider myself pretty fit in the normal course of life, the thought of doing EBC at that time, appeared pretty extreme and physically challenging. I spoke to couple of my friends and after some inclusions and drop-outs, we were finally 6 of us who were serious to consider and attempt this mother of all treks. After doing our initial research, the biggest and the most important agenda for us was to identify and finalize the professional agency that would help us in our endeavor. We spoke to many agencies, some international, some local Nepalese, but short-listing and settling on one was not easy; thanks to the numerous models that all these agencies operated in. Finally, as a wise man once said, “word of mouth is the best form of advertisement”; with the help of a recommendation from a friend we stumbled upon Nepal Trek Adventure and Expedition in this big jungle of Nepalese trekking business. Our friend provided us with the co-ordinates of Binod Sapkota’s (alias Babu), the Managing Director of Nepal Trek Adventure. Babu was available on every medium you could think of, whether it was phone, whatsapp, email, etc. and his response time was quite fast. Thanks to our group of novice trekkers and our amateur trekking experience, we bombarded him with all kinds of questions through emails, whatsapp and occasional calls at odd times. In our group of 6, five of us were guys and the sixth was a girl and as she was the only female in the group, she had some very specific questions pertaining to hygiene, safety etc. Babu, like a true gentleman, responded to all our queries and eased our anxiety. He very patiently explained the nitty-gritties of the trekking expedition, helped us with pictures to make his point and with the comfort he provided, we did not think twice and finally went ahead with our bookings. We landed in Kathmandu, and were greeted and received by none other than Babu himself at the airport, thus making us feel at home at once. During the next day of stay in Kathmandu, which was for better acclimatization, he arranged a small city tour for us in the morning, a trip to Thamel market for our last minute trekking shopping in the evening and a detailed briefing at dinner time to prepare us for the next day and the days to come. He introduced us to Rewati Prasad Parajulie, our guide, friend and the go-to person for anything and everything for the next 11 days. Rewati commanded a good experience of the Himalayas, EBC and other kinds of treks and was very level headed. Next afternoon in Lukla, we were also introduced to Binod Rana Magar, one of our porters and most importantly a second hand and assistant to Rewati. Every activity during the trek was managed and planned so well that we did not feel the enormity of undertaking one of the world's most difficult treks. All in all, I’ll say the support from Babu from Kathmandu and all the guidance and help from Rewati and Binod from Lukla to EBC and back made the EBC dream come true and seamless for all six of us. After our trek, just before boarding the flight back home, I made an individual decision of returning to Nepal for other treks in and around Mt. Everest in future as a precursor to the big step of reaching the summit someday; and for all these future treks, one thing is for sure, we would love to have Babu, Rewati, Binod and the rest of the team with us.

  • Seamless!!

We were a group of six novice Trekkers who committed to undertake the EBC trek together. Once the plan was finalised, we were left with the mammoth task of finalising the agency who would make our dream a reality. We surfed the net, did some research and spoke to various friends and colleagues who had already been to EBC; the outcome was a list of 4-5 shortlisted agencies. One thing that was a bit baffling was the huge range between what the various agencies were charging and therefore making Apple to Apple comparisons was becoming difficult. After all, what was the premium experience that an agency which was charging twice the sum over would provide compared to other agencies? Luckily, one of our colleagues who is an avid EBC Trekker guided us to Nepal Trek Adventure. Being the only woman in the group, I had lots of questions specific to safety and hygiene. It will be least to say that Binod Sapkota aka Babu - the trek Director was very prompt and receptive to all our questions right from the word go. He was able to address my inhibitions and relieve my anxiety to a great extent. From the time we landed in Kathmandu, Babu made sure that all our needs were catered to. We were introduced to our guide, Rewati Parajuli the day before we were leaving for Lukla. I cannot speak more highly for our guide, Rewati who was more of a friend during our 11 day trek to EBC and back. His calm demeanour and ability to find humour in all situations kept us going throughout the trip. Binod, one of our porters who was also acting as Rewati's assistant was like a breath of fresh air. He ensured that small details were tended to and took special care of me, which was so endearing. Wherever the ascent was challenging, I just had to follow Rewati's footsteps and thereafter it was a breeze to complete the day's trek. All in all, my friends and I were extremely happy with the services of Nepal Trek Adventure. I intend to undertake many more treks in the Himalayas and I would always want Rewati as my guide during all these hiking expeditions

Good Agency n a great guide made our EBC successful and memorable

Nepal trek and adventures was the agency our group of friends finally zeroed on after a lot of research and recommendation. Binod, the owner, is truly professional in his approach. Our guide,Rewati Prasad Parajuli, and the group of porters really helped us to achieve this successful adventure .Rewati followed all of us very closely during the trek and also during the evenings to check if every one was doing good.He ensured every body was eating well and drinking water at regular intervals. In very short time he knew strengths and weakness of each one of us and steered the whole group in the most efficient way taking help and grooming one of the Porters,Binod, towards becoming a good guide. The boarding and lodging was decent and will highly recommend Nepal trek and adventure .Thanks again to Binod(babu) and Rewati in making our dream come true.

  • Very Enjoyable EBC trek

    Very Enjoyable EBC trek

I went on the trek organised by Nepal Trek Adventures in May 2016 and I had an absolutely smashing time. Its a tough trek, but a combination of beautiful weather and an excellently organised team ensured we had a fun and more importantly safe trek. I would like to specially mention Binod (The owner) and Rewati (Our guide) for their impeccable planning and patience with a rambunctious group. I also recommend Rewati for his ability to keep us motivated through the tough stretches of the trek. It was an awesome experience and I can thoroughly recommend both the Everest Base Camp Circuit and Nepal Trek Adventures.

Nepal Trek Adventure was the Agency selected for our trip with a small group of friends. The Best part with Binod (fondly known as Babu) and guide Rewati Prasad Parajuli ensured and put in all efforts so that they understood us from day one. That was really touching. Babu and Rewati ensured we leave our footprints at Everest Base Camp and take back wonderful memories. Nepal Trek was well versed with all the requirements for the trip and proper guidance was provided. The Tea Houses and all nitty gritters was looked at. Happy to have chosen them for this trip.

  • Awesome EBC Experience with an awesome agency !!

Awesome EBC Experience with an awesome agency !!

I had reached out to Nepal Trek Adventures post getting a recommendation from a friend who is a seasoned hiker and expert. We had done a thorough research on Nepalese and International agencies before we finalized on Nepal trek Adventures. Binod (the proprietor, whom we fondly also call Babu) is humble and professional in his approach. He was reachable on phone, watsapp and on email and had addressed all our queries and concerns before we landed in Kathmandu. We were a group of friends, some of whom were of average fitness and hence we were concerned whether we would be able to complete the 11 day trek. Binod in his briefing session had shared some of the best practices to ensure that our hiking was a success and assured us that we will be well taken care of. Binod had aligned Rewati Prasad Parajulie as our guide and he did a fantastic job in ensuring our hike from Lukla to EBC and back was smooth, we had adequate breaks, were fed well and were put up in clean tea houses. The potters were diligent in their responsibilities, and one named Binod had been doubling up as an assistant guide which was very encouraging to see. The acclimatization planned throughout the hike was effective and we successfully completed the trek with zero injuries. Now thats what customer orientation and a good agency is all about !!!. To top all the above, Binod was kind enough to sponsor a day trip around kathmandu and host a farewell dinner :)

  • Very organized trekking trip

    Very organized trekking trip

Thanks Binod and our guide Shiva for taking us to Everest Base Camp and back in one piece! From so many travel agents available in Kathmandu, it's difficult to choose at the very beginning. I am lucky to have a friend recommend NTA. And my experience proves it's the right decision. The guide finds responsible porters. We are guided to very decent tea houses. The return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu is on time. And the driver is always waiting for us. EBC is a must-go adventure for me and I recommend Binod and his company.

Let me tell u these guys ( Nepal Trek Adventure Team) are flexible and know how to make things fast and easy. I did a trek to Everest base camp and it was one of the most amazing experiences ever. And by using this company, I had a tremendous experience. Binod Sapkota and his team are experts in tourism and planning. And above all else, have made my experience the most important thing. All our concerns ranging from lodging, logistics, travel, and costs were gladly explained whenever I needed contact. They even provided a cell phone for my road trip thru Nepal in case of any emergency or mixup. I'm really pleased with their service and wouldn't to hesitate to use them again.

A great adventurous tour to Everest Base Camp

I had a great tour with my mate and one of the guides from Nepal Trek Adventures and Expedition P.Ltd! We start from Jiri to Everest Base Camp. We've seen the most beautiful mountain sights for a decent price. Loving the food and had loads of fun with our guide Rabindra. Sadly I got sick and had to go back down when we got there, but my buddy went on to see a peak. The guide went with me to support, which I am extremely grateful for! Definitely a great crew, much better than some of the bigger companies that offer less for more money..

Very well run company, friendly and reliable manager along with nice, informative and fun guides. They went above and beyond for us, and sorted out a few unexpected issues. We had a helicopter evacuation for one of our group (stomach issues on way down) and everything went well as it could.  We had a brilliant trip to Everest base camp and back via Gokyo lakes. I would highly recommend the company, they managed all of our priorities and came up with a custom made trip for us.

From the very first moment I decided to trek in Nepal I wanted to use a local company and Binod and his team could not have worked out better. Binod was very professional right from first contact and my guide Dhana was a truly amazing guy. I did the trek with 4 other solo trekkers in October 2012 and it was such a profound experience that it has changed the way I look at life since. I could not recommend NTA more and when I plan to trek the Himalayas again Binod will be the first person I contact.

We had a fantastic experience this past April on the Everest Base Camp trek with Nepal Trek Adventures. A close friend and I booked a private trek which included a guide and porter. The staff were an absolute pleasure to work with. Binod Sapkota, the owner of the trekking company, took a very personal approach to ensure we were comfortably set up in Kathmandu prior to our trek, and that we had a guide that best suited our style. Our guide, Amrit Lamsal, was friendly and knowledgeable of the terrain. He maintained pace with us, made good conversation, and took the time to address all our questions and concerns. On our final day in Nepal, we spent time with Amrit, Binod, and other Nepal Trek Adventure staff having some casual drinks in Kathmandu - a testament to the friendliness of the entire crew.

We had a wonderful time treking Lukla to Everest Base Camp with guide Dsana and porter Raj, organised by Nepal Trek Adventure. Loved the valley up to Everest, the people, the absence of motor vehicles, the yaks, Dudh Koshi (milk river), the terraced fields, little red potatoes. Above it all, the towering snow capped peaks of the highest mountains in the world & the piercing blue sky. Binod Sapkota, managing director or Nepal Trek Adventure, was also very helpful and full of advice and local knowledge when we were in and around Kathmandu, getting to and from the airport, taking us to his favourite restaurant; just really good service from a local company.

    Everest Base Camp Trekking Difficulties

Had a fantastic time trekking to Everest base camp the people we meet and the scenery were all amazing and helped make our trip so enjoyable. It was hard work, but worth it!

Trekking Guides and Porters
For the Everest Base Camp Trek, there will be one leader ( Guide) and Sherpa porter (1 porter for 2 trekkers). This arrangement is done for the smooth running of the campaign. It ensures that the trip will carry on as per plan even if somebody in a group gets sick. NTA can operate Everest Base Camp Trail for a group of any size. But, a group of 10 is considered optimum. However, if you have a group of more than 10, NTA can arrange this too.

Accommodations in Everest Region
While on a trek, we will spend all nights at local tea houses. All accommodations for Everest Base Camp will be on twin sharing basis. However, on request, single rooms can also be made available but it costs additional $ 250 US. But some places in Everest region do not allow single accommodations.

Meals during the Everest Base Camp Trek
During our Trail of days, we will enjoy typical Nepali food, different ethnic cuisines as well as all types of international cuisine like Tibetan, Continental, Italian, and Indian. You can even enjoy hot chocolates, slices of bread and drinks of different variety and snacks. Breakfast of a day will be served at the same teahouse or lodge where we spent the night, as per its menu. Lunch will be served on the way to destination and dinner will be served at the tea house where you spend the night. A welcome dinner, a farewell dinner, and breakfasts will be served during our stay in Kathmandu.

Getting Visa for Nepal
You will get on arrival visa for Nepal. On arriving Nepal you will get the tourist visa for 15 to five months. It depends upon your purpose of the visit but regarding the tour, you will get the visa for 15 to three months. For trekking, you need to submit a photocopy of passport and your two pp size photo.

Altitude sickness while trekking in EBC Nepal
Altitude sickness is the negative health problem that is caused by hazardous exposure to the low amount of oxygen at high altitude. The deprivation of oxygen may occur in form of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), High Altitude Cerebral Oedema (HACE), and High Altitude Pulmonary Oedema (HAPE). In the minor case, it occurs above 1,500 meters (5,000 feet). It specifically occurs above 2,400 meters (8,000 feet). It is difficult to categorize the people who will be affected by this.
Trekking in Nepal offers you the lifetime experience but sometimes, the problem like altitude sickness may become potentially life-threatening. As we know that oxygen is the most for the living, but its blackness may lead our health toward the worst condition. For our own safety, we must be known to some of these problems along with preventions which will be much support in such critical situations. So, here are some of these problems along with their symptoms and preventions.

It is the acute breathing problem which is hazardous but not willing enough to kill anyone. Some of the symptoms are:

  • A headache
  • Poor appetite
  • Fatigue
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Poor sleep
  • Dizziness

It is caused by brain swelling and is able to kill anyone rapidly. Following symptoms are seen:

  • Constant vomiting
  • A severe headache
  • Mood change
  • Blurred vision
  • Mood swing (laziness, anger)
  • Increase in clumsiness

It is caused due to the collection of fluid in the lungs and is able to kill anyone quickly. Some of the symptoms are:

  • Coughing
  • Trouble breathing
  • Blueness in lips, tongue or nails
  • Tiredness
  • Blood in saliva
  • Froth in saliva

Life is something that does not come twice if it is lost once. Taking risk gives enjoyment in life but we have to determine the limit. Trekking in Nepal is also beautiful but risky. So, we should be prepared before going for the trek to prevent/reduce this problem. There is no guarantee that the problem will be solved but it’s better to know symptoms with preventive measures to at least know what to do if they arise.

Some preventive measures for Everest Base Camp Trekking are

  • Do a full medical check-up 6 months before beginning the trekking.
  • If you have heavy periods, consult with your physicians about iron supplements.
  • It is not advocated trek at high altitude when pregnant.
  • If you are wearing contact lenses, then you are suggested to replace them with glasses. It is to prevent excess dust, shingle and other possible unsanitary conditions that may affect contact lenses.
  • Take absorbent tissues or gloves, lip balm, creams, zinc sunscreen for protection of bare lip and nose areas.
  • Drink plenty of fluids (water).
  • Keep your hands and legs as dry as possible.
  • Keep your hands as clean as possible during meal time to prevent food contamination and other health problems such as stomach ache, dehydration, and so on.
  • Wear proper warm clothes to prevent body expose towards unwanted elements.
  • Avoid alcohol
