Note: You can also have the flyover helicopter tour to the base camp or Kala Patthar. You solely have the authority to decide what kind of tour you want - be it a flyover or landing tour.

Namche to Lukla helicopter service

Namche to Lukla helicopter or Lukla to Namche helicopter flights are mostly demanded by the clients. It is because the uphill from Lukla to Namche takes 2 days. Trekking from Lukla to Namche Bazar is moderate in level.

After spending a night at Phakding, the following day, with 7 to 8 hours of uphill you will reach Namche Bazar. It is suitable for travelers who want to skip the trekking part and return to Lukla via a scenic flight with no hassle.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla by bus

Travelers can complete the distance between Namche Bazaar and Lukla via trekking, which takes 2 days via Phakding. And each day needs 4 to 7 hours of trekking. In this situation, the question may arise: can you visit Lukla from Namche or Namche from Lukla by bus?

It is not possible yet because of the rough trails and landscape. But soon in the future, you will be able to travel between Namche Bazaar and Lukla by bus, car or other land vehicles. Similar is the case with Kathmandu to Namche by road travel.

There is no provision of by-road travel to Namche Bazaar from Kathmandu till now, but, in near future, it can be possible. However, you can utilize the airbus i.e. helicopter to execute the pick-up and drop-off service between these two places.

Group Joining Helicopter Flights

Hike to Hotel Everest View

Hike to Hotel Everest View from Namche Bazaar is the best and most popular day tour from Namche Bazaar. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to reach the hotel from Namche. The hike starts from 3440 meters and ends at 3880 meters above sea level.

The trail passes through the longer ridge towards the north side of the region. En route, enjoy the beautiful mountainous view of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, and other encompassing mountains. Hotel Everest View itself is a masterpiece in the Himalayas.

It was visioned by Takashi Miyahara and designed by the Yoshinobu Kumagaya (a Japanese Architect) and was opened for outsiders in 1971. Explore the hotel area, enjoy the meal (if you want to), and hail down to Namche Bazaar cherishing the best Himalayan panorama.

Hike to Khunde and Khumjung

The villages of Khunde and Khumjung lie on the Green Valley and are popularly called twin villages. The villages are the residence of the Sherpa people and are less crowded. Khumjung village is around 2 hours and Khunde village is around 2.5 hours away from Namche Bazaar in walking distance. The trip offers a continuous view of the Thamserku and Ama Dablam mountains. The major attractions of the places include:

Khunde: Cave (It is known as the place where Guru Rimpoche used to meditate), photogenic gate, and Stupa with the mesmerizing eye of Buddha, 

Khumjung: Khumjung Monastery (It is known to house the scalp of Yeti)

You can have a meal and hot coffee at the local tea houses and return back to Namche Bazaar continuing the main trail.

Hike to Kyangjuma

Kyangjuma is around 3.5 kilometers (2.1 miles) away from Namche Bazaar. It takes around 1 hour to reach Kyangjuma from Namche Bazaar through the Canyon above Dudh Koshi River.

It is the viewpoint that offers views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Kangtega, along with great photogenic scenery. You can reach Kyangjuma and enjoy breakfast and hot coffee, view majestic natural beauties, and return to Namche Bazaar via the same trail.

Hike to Thame

Thame is the most popular village in the Everest region and is home to Apa Sherpa (a person who has submitted Mount Everest 21 times). Thame is around 10 kilometers away from Namche Bazaar and takes around 5 to 6 hours to complete the distance via the best trail. The village houses the number of old monasteries and has skipped the crowd that trek to Everest.
