Ghorepani is a beautiful village located in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is located at an altitude of about 2874 m (9429 ft) and offers stunning views of snowy mountains and green valleys.

One of the challenging sections of today's Poon Hill hike will be the uphill stone-step trail in Ulleri, consisting of approximately 3,200 gruelling steps. However, the overall Poon Hill route will offer a pleasant experience as you walk amidst a variety of trees such as pine, bamboo, oak, rhododendron, and spruce.

You will also come across enchanting waterfalls and cascades, witness ponies passing by, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna South and Hiunchuli mountains. The trail will be dotted with local settlements, adding a touch of charm to your journey.

Ghorepani itself is divided into two parts: Lower Ghorepani and Upper Ghorepani. Lower Ghorepani is where the police check post is located, while Upper Ghorepani is a further 10 minutes uphill from the lower part. The Poon Hill trek will continue for about 3 to 4 hours, gradually descending as you make your way towards the Gurung village of Ghandruk. This part of the journey will be less challenging compared to the previous days, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and soak in the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Along the way, you will be treated to breathtaking views of the towering Annapurna massifs, including Hiunchuli, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre (also known as Fish Tail). These majestic peaks will leave you in awe of their grandeur and remind you of the sheer magnificence of the Himalayas.

Finally, you will arrive at Ghandruk, a village renowned for its Gurung community and their unique way of life.
