The Bhote Koshi is one of the best destinations for challenging whitewater rafting in Nepal. It is the wildest, steepest and action-packed rafting trip that Nepal offers to its visitors. Bhote Koshi rafting offers the closest Grade 5 Whitewater rafting experience on an extremely rapid flowing glacier. You can have this experience in only a day with the road trip from the capital city of the country, Kathmandu to the Putin point Lamosangu. It is only 3 hours’ drive from Kathmandu to Lamosangu with easy access to road transportation.

It is quite difficult to describe the mystifying river Bhote Koshi but some words found in the dictionary that truly belongs to it are wild, ranging from steep, adrenaline-charged mountain streams, big rapids and persistent in short and sweet manner. Rising from the snow-capped peaks of Tibet, the Bhote Kosi river provides some of the most exciting adventure activities like rafting, kayaking, Cannoning, and many more. On wandering along with the call of the wild whitewater, the rafting gets steeper arousing class IV- V rapids and later calms into continuous streams creating class III rapid. Bhote Koshi is one of the best modes to see the natural country and its features. Bhotekoshi river rushes into Nepal through the different valley, catching the attention with amazing and bewildered power. Even looking at the river with rapids of class 3, 4 and 4+ makes your blood rush around the nerves and gives you an adrenaline rush.

This adventurous rafting journey is appropriate throughout the year but the best time is considered from the month of September to October to get the better experience. This rafting expedition is best for you if you are looking for fast-flowing whitewater experience in the limited period of time. The grade of autumn that is from October to December ranges from 3 to 5 grade and the grade of spring is from 3 to 4 which lasts from February to May. The possible and recommended is autumn and spring but winter is also considered suitable but the rapid flows cannot be seen as the winter season receives very less rainfall. The snow too freezes up in the mountains so the rapids cannot be felt and seen but the thrill seekers who are not that strong from the heart are ready to go into the river in this time to get the thrill of their lifetime.

The departure from Kathmandu to Bhote Koshi can either be requested or someone can catch a bus to Lamosangu and meet a team there. Nepal Trek Adventure is the certified organization for the thrilling adventures like rafting, bungee jumping, and canyoning. The Putin point of the rafting is from Lamosangu Dam and the putout point is Dolalghat, Sindhupalchok. The river distance of rafting is 20 kilometer and the optional trip back to Kathmandu is asked. The number of pax(person) that can go in a raft at a time is 6. Regarding the price of the whole trip staying, food and camping. Everything can be done in RS 1800 for Nepali people, Rs 2300 for the visitors from SAARC countries and USD 25 for the foreigners. The kayak of the raft is provided by the company and the river permit is given by the government. The company makes sure the person that if any harm to life is there in the sports he should be fully responsible for it. One should bring his/her own stuff like T-shirts, lip protector, sunglasses, etc. for your own convenience.
