Where is Mount Everest Located ?

The highest peak of the world Mount Everest (8,848 m) is located on the border between Tibet and Nepal in the Himalayas in Southern Asia. Nepal is small land-locked country, presented in southern part of Asia. It is bordered by India to the south and China to the north. On the Nepali side, Mt. Everest is located in the Sagarmatha National Park in the Solukhumbu District in the Mahalangur sub-range of the Great Himalayas. On the Tibetan side, Mount Everest is located in Tingri County in the Xigaze area. It arises exactly on the borderline of Nepal and Tibet (27°59’ North latitude, 86°55’ East longitudes) in the southern part of Asia.

Nepal, the hometown of Mt. Everest located in southern part of Asia Continent. Nepal owns status as Himalayan states because out of 14 eight-thousanders peak in the world it owns eight of them in which Mt. Everest is the highest peak and billions dream to achieve its peak. The township of Mt. Everest is located in the Sagarmatha National Park in the Solukhumbu District of Eastern Development Region, Sagarmatha zone, Nepal. Lies in the Mahalangur sub-range of the Great Himalayas.

The Height of the Mount Everest

Mount Everest is the tallest mountain range above sea level in the world. As technology improves, different surveying techniques keep producing different results for the literal height of Mount Everest. Debate meet between the geologists on measurements should be based on permanent snow or rock. Mt. Everest is over 60 million years old. After the survey  Nepal and China accepted, The height of the highest peak is 8,848 m (29,029 ft) from the sea level. As tectonic movement is making the mountain grow about a quarter of an inch (0.25″) every year.

Names of Mt. Everest

Before it is named as Everest it is known as "Peak-XV". In Nepali, MT. Everest is known as Sagarmatha. Tibetan has given its name as Chomolungma, which means "Holy Mother Peaks" and it's also called as the third pole. In English, it is called as Mt. Everest named after Sir George Everest, who was the first person to locate the exact position of this highest peak. It consists of different names such as Mt. Chomolungma, Zhumulang ma, Qomolangma Feng.

Expedition to Everest Base Camp

After receiving the permit for the summit from Nepal Tourism Board. To summit, we have to trek through Everest Base Camp after passing through Lukla (the gateway to Mt. Everest) where 53 percent of oxygen is available. EBC is at an altitude of 5,364 meters (17,598 ft). Everest Base Camp in Nepal is visited by thousands of trekkers each year to feel the nature of Everest region and view of the natural world. The other base camps are present there such that Basecamp 1 is at the height of 6100 m then camp 2 is at 6400 m then camp 3 at 6800 m then camp 4 at 8000m then the summit completed by the Mountaineers after hoisting there country's flag with pride.

Climbing Mt. Everest

Because the summit is directly between Tibet and Nepal, Mount Everest can be climbed either from the Tibetan side (the north ridge) or from the Nepalese side (the southeast ridge). Starting in Nepal and climbing from the southeast ridge is generally considered the easiest and best route to be followed by the Mountaineers. The first conquerors on reaching the top point or the winners who became the first climbers in the world to reach the endpoint was Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. They made attempts in 29th of may 1953A.D. through the most south ridge route. This route is also known as Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa Trek Route.

Deaths in Mt. Everest

4,833 different people have summited Everest for a total of 8,306 summits till now. On dated 1996, 19 climbers died which was the deadliest ever on Mt. Everest. In 2012, 6 climbers died there. 288 people have died to attempt Everest on all routes, on the peak's dangerous slopes during their expedition till now.

Everest Summit Ascenders 

The youngest successful climber to reach the summit in the age of 13 is Jordan Romero in may 2010 and the oldest climber to reach the summit in the age of 76 was Min Bahadur Sherchan, in may 2008. Then Yuichiro Miura became the oldest climber to reach the summit in the age of 80 years, on may 23 2013.  Apa Sherpa recorded the Highest number of times to reach the summit by recording 21 times.

What are the challenges to face on Everest?

It is not easy to survive on Everest lots of challenges is to face by the Mountaineers.The challenges are like Altitude sickness, this affects many aspects of  mountaineers health, Temperature, as we go up temperature varies which direct affects our body parts and lead to certain death, Weather , weather changes time to time during mountaineering so mountaineers have to keep warm their bodies, Falls, most of the sudden death is cause by falling or slipping down while trekking, Avalanche, during time of trekking ice falls, snow falls huge ice falling as khumbhu ice falls leads to certain death, Crevasses, cracks on ice lands over there which directly leads to death, Summit Fever, Hurricane, Frostbite etc.

How much does it cost for climbing?

Climbing Mount Everest is expensive. According to the writer, speaker, and Seven-Summit climber Alan Arnette, the average price to reach the summit of Everest from the south with a Western guide was $64,750 in 2017. Overall, including your guide, food and lodging, all your personal activities to be done in Everest etc., it costs $65,000 to $70,000 per person.
