Helambu Trekking in Nepal

Helambu short trek is the most popular trekking itinerary for trekkers in Langtang region. Nepal Trek Adventure offers 5 to 7 days of this circuit at best cost (price) and itinerary. You can start this trekking from both ways either Melamchi Bazar about 60 Km or by Sundarijal 26 Km from Kathmandu.

Located northeast of Kathmandu, it extends from north of Taramarang to the tree limit of the Gosainkunda Lake and lower slopes of Jugal Himal. There we meet several highland Tamang and Sherpa villages, scattered on both sides of the Melamchi Khola.

Helambu Short Trekking are vary on the desire of the clients and we can design the itinerary as per our client’s request. The Langtang valley is aptly called “the valley of glaciers". Here the mountain-scape is spectacular. On either side of the valley, mountains rise, soaring into the sky.

The valley offers pine forest, slow-moving rivers and swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy downs, and meadows strewn with daisies and wild primulas.

In the upper part of the valley, there are snow bridges spanning angry torrents, high passes enveloped in mist, tiny lakes with icebergs coating on them and waters of crystalline brightness. This trek is comparatively easier one due to the fact that the elevations are lower, ranging between 800m and 3600m, offering less climbing as well as warmer temperatures.

Difficulty of Helambu Trek and Preparation

The Helambu trek is rewarding and simple. Depending on the location, Trekking to Helambu will take three to seven hours each day, with several stops to take in the views of the mountains.

Long walks, sharp climbs and descents, and steep forward pathways that are occasionally rocky are all part of the journey routes. They also pass through many woodlands. Therefore, your travel will be more pleasant and pleasurable the better fit you are.

This will benefit you if you like hiking or have any prior experience, but it's not required. For people with delicate medical problems, including heart or lung illness, we do not advise this trek.

Accommodation during a 5-day Helambu Trek

In this package, we provide four nights of lodging. We ensure that the most comfortable and best lodges in the area will be included in your five-day Helambu trek.

Please note that all the rooms during the trek will be shared on a twin-sharing basis. If you wish to spend two nights in a hotel in Kathmandu, both before and after the hike, there are many different types of hotels in Kathmandu to fit every taste and budget.

A few of these hotels can even be reserved online. However, please note that accommodations in Kathmandu are not included in our cost.

Food during the Trek to Helambu

Sufficient nutrition is essential for trekking at high altitudes. We'll give you an adequate supply of delicious, sanitary, and nutrient-rich meals.

You will only have access to some of the options that large cities provide. There will be fewer meal options the farther you get from the cities. We will provide you with 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches, and 4 dinners throughout the trek.

We will offer you traditional regional, Asian, and Western dishes on the menu. We strongly advise that you eat a lot of fresh vegetables and drink lots of water, green tea, lemon tea, hot tea, ginger tea, and garlic soup.

Although there are many non-vegetarian options available on the trekking routes, we advise against eating them due to meat hygiene issues. We also strongly advise you to avoid dairy products, alcohol, and caffeine during the trek.

  • The best time to trek in Helambu is spring (March to June) and autumn (September to December). The temperature is moderate and in these seasons you can have amazing views.
