Accommodation during 7 Days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

During 7 Days Poon Hill Trek, you will be staying in a lodge or a tea house which are fairly basic with twin bed. There is less furniture in the room. Blankets are normally available but you can carry sleeping bags to be on a safer zone (extra blankets are also available at additional cost). Better be ready than being sorry. There is a fine lounge /dining room with solar light and a Bukhara stove (an iron cylinder fitted with chimney duct) in which a log fire is lighted. Electricity may not be available in many tea houses unless the village has hydroelectricity power. Most of the teahouses have electricity for charging appliances but it may cost additional.

    Today, we start the trip after breakfast at Kathmandu Hotel. Our company representative (or guide/porter) will come to receive you at your hotel and drive to Pokhara. It will take around 5 to 6 hours to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu, but the time may fluctuate due to road conditions as well. After reaching Pokhara, you will check in to the hotel and rest for moments. You can roam around the lakeside enjoying the view in the evening as well. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
    Driving Time: 5 to 6 hours
    Altitude: 1,400 meters (Kathmandu/Pokhara)
    Major Attractions of the Day: rivers, streams, highway traffic, the suspension bridge, cable cars, the cluster of houses, etc.
    Mountains Viewed: Machhapuchhre, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges

      Today, the trekking/hiking starts officially. We start the day with the early breakfast and drive along the Baglung Highway towards Nayapul. It takes around 1.5 hours to reach Nayapul from Pokhara. From Nayapul, the walking journey begins to reach Ulleri, passing the villages of Hile and Tikhedhunga. During the journey, you will find different tea houses, green hills, a 3200 step staircase, and a suspension bridge. Almost ninety percent of the track is covered via the Modi Khola (River) side-way. This day won't be that hard for the visitors as it is the walk through the river-side track and vertical stone-steps all the time. It will take around 4 to 5 hours to reach Ulleri from Nayapul. You will enjoy your journey from the start. Stay overnight at the hotel in Ulleri.

      Walking Time: 3 to 4 hours
      Minimum Altitude: 1,070 meters (Nayapul)

        Today we start our journey after having breakfast. This day, we will pass through the green lush forest and different rhododendron blooming all around the forested trail. The trial will be quiet and through the trial, you will play hide and seek with the sun. There are high chances of seeing rare plants and animals as we will spend most of the time passing through the trees and some clusters of settlements. At some point, you will be able to observe different snow-capped mountains making the trek more exciting and alluring. After around 6 hours of walk, we will reach Ghorepani (Lower). We walk for further 10 to 15 minutes to reach Upper Ghorepani, from the Lower Ghorepani and settle for the night. It is done in order to reduce the next day's walk towards Poonhill Viewpoint.
        Walking Time: 6 to 7 hours
        Minimum Altitude: 1,960 meters (Ulleri)
        Maximum Altitude: 2,974 meters (Ghorepani)
        Major Attractions of the Day: Green forest, wooden taps, waterfall, cascades, track sideline to the river, stone paved ways, wooden and metal bridges, a small river, clusters of houses and hotels/lodges, pony rearing area, and so on.
        Mountains Viewed: Dhaulagiri I, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Fishtail mountain, Himchuli, Nilgiri, Dhampus pass, Tukuche peak, Dhaulagiri II, Dhaulagiri III, Dhaulagiri IV, Dhaulagiri V, Gurja peak.

          Today is the main day of our trek so we will start our journey early in the morning and start to hike for about 45 to 60 minutes to reach Poon Hill Viewpoint. You will see the rising sun through the mountains making the mountain golden colored with the phenomenal outlook of the overall landscape. You will see various mountains from here like Dhaulagiri I, Annapurna I, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), Nilgiri, Dhampus Peak, etc. This day you will reach a height of 3210 meters (Poonhill). After spending a few hours exploring the natural beauty, we will be back to Ghorepani. We will have our breakfast at Ghorepani Hotel and move further to Tadapani. Throughout the journey, we will walk through the wide timberland of bamboo, spruce, and oak. On the way, we will stop at the place named Deurali, for lunch, and continue the journey afterward. With the various uphill and downhill walk, we will reach to Tadapani.
          Walking Time: 6 to 7 Hours
          Minimum Altitude: 2,630 meters (Tadapani)
          Maximum Altitude: 3,210 meters (Poonhill)
          Major Attractions of the Day: Poonhill Viewpoint, waterfall, cascades, green lush forest, blooming rhododendron, stone steps, vertical up and down hill trail, wooden and metal/
          Mountains Viewed: Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), Tukuche Peak, Gurja Peak and so on.

            From Tadapani, most of the trial will be downhill. So, after having breakfast at Tadapani Hotel, we will start to descend down through the subtropical forest with huge bamboo massifs and giant rhododendron plants. The melody sound of birds and the flowing rivers will aid you to get refreshed and peace of mind. Ghandruk is the last destination for the day. As we all know Ghandruk is a huge Gurung community and has Gurung cultural museum. You can explore the places and rest at night.
            Walking Time: 3 to 4 hours
            Minimum Altitude: 2,012 meters (Ghandruk)
            Maximum Altitude: 2,630 meters (Tadapani)
            Major Attractions of the Day: Green forest, local village, Mountain View, Waterfall, Cascades, Gurung cultural museum, stone-paved ways, forest-side track, etc.
            Mountain Viewed: Annapurna South, Himchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), and Dhaulagiri Massif

              Today we will walk shortly from Ghandruk to Nayapul via the forest-side road. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to reach Nayapul from Ghandruk. From Nayapul, we will drive to Pokhara. It will take around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach Pokhara. If you're not tired then you can explore Pokhara City. You will find a beautiful lake, well-maintained roads, hotels and restaurants, bars and pubs, and colorful lightings all around. You can enjoy the nightlife of Pokhara as well.
              Driving Time:  1.5 to 2 hours
              Walking Time: 3 to 4 hours
              Main Attractions of the Day: Green lush forest, Local Gurung Village, brownish hills, sideway of Modi Khola (River), clusters of hotels and settlements, cascades, stone-steps, etc.
              Mountains Viewed: Annapurna Ranges, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), and Mount Dhaulagiri

                After having breakfast in the beautiful lake city, Pokhara, we will drive to Kathmandu. It takes around 5 to 6 hours to drive on the highway. The time may also fluctuate because of the road condition in Nepal. You can book a flight and return back to Kathmandu as well. After reaching Kathmandu you will be transferred to the hotel. As you know it is the last day of the trek, you can extend the days of the trip to Nepal with other treks and tours in Nepal. Or, simply fly back to your country with a final goodbye!!!

                  During Ghorepani Poonhill 7 Days Trek, we will be staying in a lodge or tea house with an attached or separate bathroom. So, a normal shower is easily available. But for a hot shower, you have to pay for the extra charge.

                • In the Ghorepani Poonhill 7 Days Trail, Most of the guest house has electricity. You can charge your electric appliances easily. But some hotels/lodges may not allow free charging; hence, you need to pay an extra amount of money for that.

From Tikedhunga to Ulleri we will trek through steep vertical stone steps. From Ulleri to Ghorepani we will walk through stone steps but the steps are easier. From Ghorepani to Poon hill we will walk through vertical steps for 1 hour and enjoy the sunrise view and environmental view. Then we will hail back to Ghorepani within 20-25 minutes and have breakfast. Then, continue the journey to Tadapani. The ways to Tadapani is steep ups and down hills through stone steps. We can obtain the beautiful Mountain View, green forest, giant rhododendron plant, etc on the route. From Tadapani to Ghandruk (Gurung village), we will walk through the forest and river sideways. From Ghandruk to Nayapul, we can either walk for 2 hours or drive back within 45 minutes. If we decide to walk back then we will walk through dusty ways where you will see a waterfall, cascades, forest, etc. At last, from Nayapul to Pokhara or Kathmandu we can either drive or fly back.

                • The distance (miles) of the trek depends upon the route you choose. From Kathmandu, it covers 177 kilometers were as from Pokhara it's just 35.9 kilometers. From Nayapul to Poon hill its 13.4 kilometers. Within these distances, 7 days Trek can be completed with 5 to 6 hours of walk per day.

                • Yes, it's possible to do the private Poonhill trek of 7 days. You can start your trek at any date you want or suitable for your own group. The group of up to 12 people is recommended for the best trekking experience.
