As a solo traveler, I joined a group helicopter flight from Ramechhap to Lukla for my Everest trek. It was the perfect way to begin my journey while also saving costs. The camaraderie with fellow trekkers in the group was an unexpected bonus, and we exchanged stories and tips for the trek ahead. The views from the helicopter were nothing short of surreal. I knew I wanted to go on a trek when I was organizing my vacation to the highlands, but I didn't have enough time for a lengthy one. That's when I learned about the NTA-recommended Annapurna Base Camp Heli Return Trek. I could take in the grandeur of the mountains over the 12-day trek without having to sacrifice too much of my schedule.

I set out on a trek with several other trekkers, and we left Nayapul. The breathtaking vistas of the mountains made the difficult walk worthwhile. Meeting new people and telling them about the event was fantastic. As we trekked in the direction of the Annapurna base camp, we spoke, laughed, and enjoyed each other's company.

When we took a helicopter back to Pokhara from Annapurna base camp on the final day, the view of the mountains from above was really amazing. It was the ideal way to cap off a fantastic journey. I am really appreciative to NTA for recommending this hike and providing me with the chance to socialize and take in the breathtaking mountain scenery.
