Reaching Everest Base Camp was a dream of mine ever since I was a teenager, and I finally achieved that goal with a stylish helicopter return. Getting familiar with the Namche Bazaar and Lukla was a much-loved consolation in addition to everything else that I got to witness during the hike.

It also beat spending days trekking back and still allowed us to truly appreciate the landscape from a completely different perspective.
